According to the Federal Capital Territory Administration, a new permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps, or NYSC, will be built in Kwali, Abuja.
At the NYSC National Governing Board meeting with chairs of the State Governing Boards on Tuesday in Abuja, Minister of the FCT Musa Bello made this announcement in person through Secretary of the FCT NYSC Governing Board Hadiza Kabir.
To facilitate the NYSC’s activities in Abuja, Bello said that construction on a new secretariat complex was ongoing.
He asked all parties involved to continue playing their parts in addition to the Federal Government.
“The NYSC scheme is the responsibility of governments at all levels and must not be left in the care of only one”, he said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the NYSC National Governing Board, Ambassador Fatima Abubakar, expressed concern over the organization’s challenges despite its achievements in fostering national unity.
