In different areas of Kwara State in 2022, flood catastrophes claimed the lives of at least seven persons.
Abubakar Yelwa, the managing director of HYPPADEC (the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission), made this announcement on September 25 in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State.
The hardest affected communities in Patigi, according to him, were those beside rivers.
2,800 people, including 1,300 homes, were impacted by the flood tragedy, according to Abubakar.
He went on to say that significant agriculture areas and residential areas were also drowned in Patigi.
The commission was there to provide supplies for the victims.
