Gunmen abducted five passengers from a commercial bus on the Emuoha-Kalabari Road in Rivers State.
Around 8 o’clock on Saturday, September 17, the gunmen ambushed the car at a dangerous location in the neighborhood before firing sporadically.
According to reports, they drove into a neighboring bush with the driver and seven passengers.
Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-koko informed reporters that the State Commissioner of Police had already scheduled a meeting of local stakeholders to address the issue, despite the fact that the command had yet to receive a clear picture of the occurrence.
She said;
“The CP has called stakeholders, including the local government chairmen and the anti-cultism. He has deployed anti-kidnapping and other tactical unit to comb the area”.
