The scene in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, where Peter Obi’s Labor Party supporters assembled on Saturday morning for their one million-man march, is chaos.
Obi’s followers, known as “Obidients,” were scheduled to leave from the People’s Club area, but some thugs who are supposedly affiliated with another party in the State broke into the rally location.
According to a source, the police may have also intervened, fired tear gas canisters, and dispersed the rally.
According to reports, the police officers stated that their behavior was required by an order from the Ebonyi State Government.
The youths could be seen running in all directions while the teargas smoke billowed in a popular video.
However, it was learned that the Obidients have congregated once more in the State’s Mile 50 region.
